a) If you've followed the steps outlined so far, you'll
have a clear(er) sense of your project. Now do another search
the Library catalog. This will give you a
sense of additional books and call number ranges that may be
useful to you. If you're not clear on how this works, go back
to the Checklist
for Week One. And then review the discussion
of call numbers.
b) Now it's time to go
back down to the stacks. Bring your list of books to find and
call number ranges to check out. This time, you'll be treating
the books differently. You'll be doing a careful evaluation of
the books you find. And you'll begin to "snowball"--techniques
that are outlined in the next two sections.
