Part of the challenge of an art history course

is to push you to learn how to handle a huge flow of information, organize it, and remember specific facts easily when challenged with a question. This is a very valuable skill that you'll transfer to other aspects of your life, not least your professional field. It's also part of the argument in favor of a liberal arts component to education.
