Orient Orient is for plotting and analyzing orientation data, data that can be described by an axis or a direction in space or, equivalently, by a position on a sphere or circle. Examples of orientation data include: geologic bedding and cleavage planes, fold axes, faults and fault slip directions, paleomagnetic vectors, glacial striations, and wind and current flow directions.
EllipseFit EllipseFit is an integrated program for geological finite strain analysis. It includes routines to derive three-dimensional strain from oriented digital photographs, and is designed for field-based structural geology studies. The graphical interface and multi-platform deployment also make it ideal for introductory structural geology laboratories.
