Disability Resource Guidelines for Glenn Geher's Classes at SUNY New Paltz

I pride myself on being as accommodating as I can be for students who need extra time for exams. In fact, I generally allow ALL MY STUDENTS to have as much time as they need/want to complete exams for any of my classes. Further, I generally have no problem allowing students to take exams in remote places.

Within this framework, please note the following policies that I have regarding students who want to take exams in conjunction with the assistance of the Disabilities Resource Center.

1. It is the student's responsibility to get the exam from me and bring it to a remote location for completion. Typically, this guideline is simply followed by having the student pick up the exam at the start of the exam in the classroom. If this scenario is not feasible for some reason, the student needs to come to collect a hard-copy of the exam prior to the exam's implementation (typically by coming to my office hours). The student should communicate with me prior to make sure that I am aware that he or she will pick up said exam.

2. While I want the student to have as much time as he or she wants/needs, I also reserve the right to grade the exam on the same day that it is administered. As such, the student (and/or a designee from the Disabilities Resource Center) must drop off the exam TO MY OFFICE (HUM 9B) on the day of the exam (ideally, immediately after he or she completes the exam). If I am not in my office at the time, please simply shove the exam under my office door. DO NOT drop it off in my mailbox.
