------ Glenn's Beer-and-Bacon fondue --------
 
 

Ingredients:

- 9 slices of high quality bacon

- 1 small onion

- 1 tablespoon butter

- 1 tbl flour

- 1 cup of either Sam Adams amber ale OR

Bridgeport India Pale Ale ... substitute anything

except the cheap stuff - 8 oz havarti cheese

(SHREDDED) - 8 oz gruyere (or swiss) (SHREDDED) -

1 french baguette (with hard crust)
 
 

Preparation:

1. cut baguette into bite-size pieces

2. cut off all fat on bacon.

3. dice remainder of bacon into small pieces 4.

put bacon, onion, and butter in large saucepan

... cook until bacon is golden and onion soft

5. stir in flour

6. add beer gradually

7.  add cheeses

8. serve over low flame in fondue pot (or serve

right out of the pan if you are one of the few

unfortunate college students who does not own a

fondue pot) –
