Andrew and Bert – A 2-year-old Caper (written by Andrew’s Daddy: Glenn Geher; 12/07/05)

On Wednesdays I stay home and play with (2-year

old) Andrew. Today started out as a typical Wednesday --

library story time ... meet Mommy for lunch in town ...

down for nap by 1:30.

At about 3, I hear Andrew's little "I'm awake" sounds -

little do I know that I'm about to enter a virtual crime

scene. Diaper on the carpet - along with pants ... Oh my!!!

... my gaze moves quickly toward the crib -- there's a

smiling Andrew sitting atop his pillow. On the center of

the mattress is a nearly perfect circle of fresh urine --

spreading out a good 20 inches in diameter. In the exact

center of said urine-circle, face-down, no less, is

Andrew's favorite stuffed guy -- Bert. Yes, the yellow,

eyebrow-laden, sort-of-grumpy, not-so-cuddly counterpart

to the generally better-known and more-loveable Ernie.

The precarious placement of Bert in this scenario seemed

quite intentional -- Within the hour, as I feared,

Forensics confirmed this disturbing notion. It looked way

too much like the makings of a satanic ritual. Worse,

Andrew seemed altogether pleased with things upon my

arrival ...

Such is life with Andrew! Got to love him!
