The Center for Student Media is the organization that supervises SUNY New Paltz's three media outlets. It is composed of three professional staff members who advise, instruct, and aid the nearly 200 students involved with WNPC-TV, The Oracle Newspaper, and WFNP Radio. The offices of The Center for Student Media can be found on the third and fourth floors of the Student Union Building on campus. The Pro Staff includes Bill Clark as Director and Elkyn Orellana as Assitant Director. The Center for Student Media is a service of the SUNY New Paltz Student Association.


WNPC TV has been a part of New Paltz's mediascape since 1990. Located on the 3rd floor of the Student Union Building, WNPC TV allows students to engage with a functioning television environment. Students can produce original content or participate with the station's weekly English, Spanish, and Entertainment newscasts. WNPC-TV airs on campus channels 3, 6, and 8 and off-campus in the Town of New Paltz on 20.

WFNP Radio

WFNP "The Edge" is a non commercial radio station that broadcasts to the entire Hudson Valley from the 4th floor of the Student Union Building. WFNP first existed as an AM station in the 1960s before it switched to the FM wavelength in 1991. WFNP programming includes student produced talk shows, music, public service announcements as well as news segments. The station can be accessed by live stream from the Edge's website, on 88.7 FM, and on WNPC-TV's channel 3.

The New Paltz Oracle

The New Paltz Oracle has existed in some shape or form on the SUNY New Paltz campus since the early 1900s. The Oracle is a weekly newspaper distributed on campus as well as in the local community, with an impressive circulation of 4,000. The newspaper's student staff writes, edits, and publishes the paper. All columns, letters, editorials, articles are contributed by SUNY New Paltz students for SUNY New Paltz students.
