Every Monday at 9pm, the Residence Hall Student Association holds its weekly Associate Council (AC) meeting. This is a meeting attended by representatives from each hall government; this representative is usually the elected RHSA representative but can also be another hall government member. The AC Meeting takes place in a different residence hall every week. The meeting begins with a roll call which gives each hall an opportunity to discuss upcoming events and programs. Each meeting then has old and new business which covers news about upcoming RHSA events and issues as well as review of past business as well. Hall and campus concerns are also discussed, and in the past have brought attention to problems such as handicapped access and lighting on campus. Each meeting is closed with the passing of “Molly the Moose,” the official New Paltz RHSA mascot. Molly travels from hall to hall and allows hall governments to recognize each other each week. The RHSA AC Meetings are where the magic happens! It is here where information is distributed, relationships are formed and a difference is made!
