How can I connect my XBOX or XBOX 360 to the Internet on campus?
If you have an XBox or an XBox 360 and want to connect to the Internet, send us an
e-mail (helpdesk@newpaltz.edu) and be sure to include ALL of this information:
- Your name
- Your dorm telephone number, or cell phone number
- The building name and room number you live in
- Your NPCUID and New Paltz e-mail address
- The console type (Xbox -- regular or 360)
- The MAC address of the console
To the find the MAC address of the console, follow these directions: FOR THE STANDARD X-BOX:
- Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray.
- From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Settings.
- From the Settings screen, select Network Settings.
- The MAC address is the 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner of the Network Settings screen.
- Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard.
- Select Network Settings.
- Select Edit Settings.
- Select Additional Settings.
- Select Advanced Settings.
- At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC Address, which is your MAC address.
